Skill Maintenance Assessments (Proficiencies)

Each new season, all active patrol & competition members are required to undertake annual skills maintenance.

Skills maintenance checks are necessary to:

• Ensure ongoing competency of members in their area of training and activities
• Maintain the standards of knowledge and expertise of surf life savers
• Satisfy legal and statutory requirements
• Reinforce and maintain our service commitment to the ocean and beach going community
A members proficiency is valid until the 31 December each year

The proficiencies will be broken into 2 parts and you MUST attend both for successful completion.

Dry Proficiency – CPR, First Aid, Radio and Signal components

Wet Proficiency – Run / Swim / Run and Rescue (either board or tube), IRB Crew & Driver
The following proficiency dates are set.
Venue is at the Surf Club

If you have any questions regarding proficiencies, please contact Willow Forsyths (Director of Education)
